Imagine J Dilla meets Miles Davis meets the essence of New York City. That's "Speechless". The debut jazz instrumental album was born from that sound. It is my musical interpretation of New York City through my trumpet.
Inspired by the spirit behind Miles Davis’ Grammy-winning album 'Doo-Bop', “Speechless” is my modern-day interpretation of what it means to let a jazz instrumental album communicate through the current musical landscape. I wasn't trying to recreate Miles’ sound—I wanted to embrace the philosophy of fearless forward movement while remaining rooted in musicianship, melody, harmony, rhythm, and what I like to call improvised composition.
